This is Friday, the day my calendar says to blog. With the rest of the country I have been following the story of the horrific massacre of some thirty persons, many of them children. Here is my prayer:
Lord Jesus, have mercy on the community of Newtown, Connecticut.
Grant much wisdom to those who have responsiblity to care for those immediately harmed.
Empower the spread of good news in this world.
Increase every act of service and love to multiplied effectiveness.
Build our default behavior to serving and praying for others.
With renewed vigor we sing, “No more let sins and sorrows grow, nor thorns infest the ground.”
